The objective of the ISO 9001 standard is to implement a quality management system in the company (or in any organization) to improve its competitiveness, internal operation, and relationship with customers and suppliers. The ISO 9001 standard was established by the International Organization for Standardization, and is based on the British standard BS 5750, of the British Standards Institution. The current version of the standard is ISO 9001:2008.
ISO 9001:2008 is structured in 8 chapters. Among the most important are Chapter 4, which is dedicated to the management system (this chapter contains the general requirements and requirements for managing documentation), Chapter 5, which establishes the responsibilities of the Company’s Management, and Chapter 6. , which is dedicated to managing the company’s resources (human resources, infrastructure and work environment). Finally, it is worth highlighting chapter 7, dedicated to the improvement in the realization of the company’s products, and chapter 8, which defines the way forward to achieve continuous improvement.
